StopMe works best when people help each other make better purchase decisions without making the person asking for help feel worse.

A simple rule:

Judge the purchase, not the person.

Be Useful

When voting SKIP, WAIT, or BUY, try to help with the decision.

Useful advice might include:

• why the item may not be worth the money;
• whether waiting could help;
• a practical alternative;
• something the buyer may have overlooked; or
• why you think the purchase actually makes sense.

You do not have to agree with other voters.

Be Respectful

Do not attack or shame someone because of:

• what they want to buy;
• how much money they have;
• their appearance;
• their lifestyle;
• their identity; or
• their intelligence.

Disagreement is fine. Personal attacks are not.

Protect Privacy

Do not post private or sensitive information about yourself or someone else, including:

• home addresses;
• phone numbers;
• passwords;
• financial-account details; or
• private identifying information.

Do Not Post Harmful or Illegal Content

Do not use StopMe for:

• threats or targeted harassment;
• scams or fraud;
• malicious links or software;
• illegal transactions;
• sexual exploitation or abuse of minors;
• content that unlawfully infringes intellectual-property rights; or
• other content that violates applicable law.

Use Content You Have the Right to Share

Only upload photos, text, and other content that you have the right to use.

We May Remove Content

We may remove or restrict content that violates these guidelines, our Terms of Use, applicable law, or the safety and integrity of StopMe.

StopMe is an early-stage product, so moderation tools may be limited.
